This 2005 Merchant/Ivory production tells the story of a former diplomat [Ralph Fiennes] and a displaced Russian countess [Natasha Richardson] who fall in love in Shanghai in 1936 just prior to the outbreak of war. Sanada Hiroyuki plays Mr. Matsuda, an important Japanese official who is an important catalyst in the story.
Though at times slow moving, the story is by turns sad and touching, and all the performances were fantastic. The original novel on which the story is based was written by Mr. Kazuo Ishiguro, and is also quite fantastic.
The song is Sarigenai Yoruni, performed by Mr. Hiroyuki Sanada

まだ、見た事が無いのですが、こんなに短い髪型の真田さんは珍しいです。
高校教師の時よりも、横側と後ろ側の髪が短いので、当時はこんな髪型が流行っていたのかな？と思いました。
