[JAPAN] Tetsuya Iwanaga Tribute – Model & Actor

This video introduces u to Mr. Tetsuya Iwanaga (aka Tetsu), one of the hopefuls, upcoming actors in Japan. He was born in Sasebo, Nagasaki-prefecture to J-parents. As a small child, Tetsu was academically talented; he studied Pharmaceutical Science at Fukuoka University and then, attended Keio University, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Tokyo for his master’s degree. While there, however, he was scouted to become a fashion model.

Tetsu’s first job was as an exclusive model for a magazine, Men’s NONNO; he has this job from July 2009 to present. While modelling, he earned his license to practice as a pharmacist. He also got a job as a voice actor for a film, One Piece Film: Z, in Dec 2012.

In 2013, Tetsu was offered a role in a TV show and appeared in the Fuji TV series Terrace House under the nickname of “Prince.” After this role, he appeared on yet another TV show in Aug of the same year; he and the show became a hot gossip topic on the internet.

In Nov 2013, Tetsu received membership to join Japan Mensa, an organization of people with IQ. It is said that only 2% of the world people has a high IQ. Tetsu continues to appear on TV shows such as the “Ikemen Intelli Army” on Otameshika! & Q-sama!, etc.

In 2014, after Men’s NONNO exclusive model contract ended, Tetsu appeared as a freelance model in Baila, JJ, and other women’s magazines. He appeared in several advertisements, too, including the Walkman F series. In addition, he kept up with his study in pharmaceutical science and submitted his scientific writing in a pharmaceutical journal.
